Kamdhenu Chair inaugurated in Salooni by MP Harsh Mahajan
In a step aimed towards transforming Chamba district from an aspirational district into a model one, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Harsh Mahajan officially inaugurated the Kamdhenu Chair at Government College, Salooni.
The inauguration took place as part of the college’s ongoing efforts in collaboration with the Indo-European Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises. Before the formal event, the chief guest and other dignitaries participated in a plantation ceremony on the college campus.
The establishment of the Kamdhenu Chair is the result of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Government College, Salooni, and the Indo-European Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises.
Explaining the purpose of the Kamdhenu Chair, Chamber Secretary Manoj Singh stated that the primary aim is to foster entrepreneurship among the youth of Chamba.
Highligting the significance of the Kamdhenu Chair, Principal Dr Mohinder Kumar Slariya said its primary goal is to promote rural entrepreneurship across all panchayats in the Salooni block. The college plans to involve students in research-based assignments focused on mapping local resources. The collected data will then be scientifically processed and shared with the administration, as well as the state and Central Government authorities, to develop and implement a comprehensive action plan for the district’s development.
MP Harsh Mahajan commended the college’s initiative and promised full support for its future endeavours. During the event, he also engaged with students, listened to their concerns and provided valuable guidance.
The Principal also requested the MP for construction of hostel and staff quarters. Mahajan assured all possible assistance and instructed the Principal to submit the necessary documents promptly.
