Justice Suryakant inaugurates court complex at Amb in Una
Justice Suryakant, Judge of the Supreme Court, today inaugurated the multi-storey sub divisional court complex at Amb in Una district. The facility has been constructed at a cost of Rs 17.16 crore.
Justice Suryakant had also laid the foundation stone of the court complex in 2019 while he was the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. The Amb court complex has six court rooms, two bar rooms and a library besides other facilities for members of the bar association and the litigants.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Suryakant said the court complex was an important step towards the development the judicial system in the area. Stressing on the need to have more courts, he said those seeking justice should be given a humane treatment. Hailing the judicial work culture in Himachal Pradesh, he said it was one of the most dedicated among all states in the country.
The Supreme Court judge stressed on the need to adopt to digital techniques in the justice delivery system. He said the proceedings of the Supreme Court are fully digitised, enabling on-line court sessions, thus obliterating the inconvenience of geographic distances besides enabling the ease and reach of justice to all. In addition, he said digital proceedings also help bar members of the lower courts to better understand and learn the working systems.
Himachal Pradesh High Court judge Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan welcomed the chief guest and spoke about the development works undertaken in the Sub Divisional Courts during the last few years. High Court judge and Administrative Judge of Una Civil and Sessions Division, Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua and Una District and Sessions Judge Naresh Singh Thakur also spoke on the occasion.
