Introspect before levelling allegations: Congress's Sandeep Sankhyan to BJP Himachal chief Rajeev Bindal
Hamirpur, August 25
Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee state media coordinator Sandeep Sankhyan, in a media release issued at Bilaspur today, said BJP president Rajiv Bindal must introspect before levelling allegations against Congress leaders as he himself was removed from plum positions within his own party following his “misdeeds”.
Bindal had tried to tarnish image of Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, who was known for his honesty and political wisdom, he added. Sankhayan questioned why Bindal was dropped as the Health Minister during BJP regime, led by then CM Prem Kumar Dhumal.
“Was he not involved in the alleged ambulance purchase scam?” Sankhayan said. He added that Bindal should understand why he was not inducted again in the cabinet of the BJP government led by Jai Ram Thakur as CM.
He said ‘pick and choose’ allegations were levelled against Bindal in the selection of employees in the Vidhan Sabha when Bindal was the Speaker of the House.
The media coordinator said Bindal should talk about the alleged corruption in purchase of PPE kits and sanitisers during the Covid pandemic.
The incidents connected with the BJP leader were not substantiation of clean and honest politics, he added.
He said not only the Congress, but even senior BJP leader Shanta Kumar had termed the acts and conduct of the state BJP as most shameful. He said the state government was working to bring the operations in the state to normal, despite the “weak” financial conditions created by BJP government.
He added that the BJP president must refrain from irresponsible statements, and come with constructive suggestions.
