Industries Minister listens to public grievances in Nahan
Industries, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour and Employment Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan listened to the grievances of people from surrounding areas at the Circuit House in Nahan today.
The grievances and demands primarily revolved around the issues related to electricity, water supply and road infrastructure.
While many grievances were resolved on the spot, others were forwarded to the respective departments for a prompt action. The minister said the remaining issues would be addressed soon.
Addressing a gathering, Chauhan emphasised the importance of maintaining the pace of development, stating that a region’s progress is closely tied to its infrastructure and public welfare.
He acknowledged that despite limited resources, the state government remained committed to working for the benefit of the people, ensuring that no public service was hindered.
The minister also mentioned the state government’s efforts in recovering from the recent natural disaster alongside implementing development projects.
He said the ‘Him-Unnati Scheme’, a Rs 150 crore initiative launched to promote natural farming, would not only benefit sustainable agriculture, but also uplift farming community in the state.
Chauhan also spoke about the ‘Mukhyamantri Sukhashray Yojana’, a welfare scheme for orphaned and destitute children. Under the scheme, the state government will cover expenses related to children’s upbringing, education and accommodation. The children above 18 years will receive an annual sum of Rs 1 lakh for coaching and hostel fees, along with a monthly scholarship of Rs 4,000.
Besides locals, officials from various departments were present on the occasion.
