Inculcate human values in students: Governor
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla today said that it was necessary to ensure the inclusion of human values in the education system for the overall development of students. He addressed a Leadership Development Programme on Universal Human Values at Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) here.
The Governor said that the National Education Policy-2020 laid emphasis on the overall development of students and many provisions had been made in this regard. He added that all educationists and the authorities concerned should understand the spirit of the National Education Policy-2020 and work towards its implementation.
He said that it was important to inculcate nationistic spirit and values in the students. He added that due to human values and traditions, the Indian civilisation had ideals such as Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha and many other great personalities in different eras and they were still great role models for people.
The Governor said that continuous efforts of the university towards imbibing human values in students would definitely bring better results in coming years.
HPTU Vice-Chancellor Shashi Dhiman detailed the working and achievements of the institution and objectives of the programme on universal human values.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Technical University Rajnish Arora spoke on the relevance of universal human values in the present era and the need to include them in the education system. HPTU students Pranjal Sharma and Avneswari also shared their experiences.
