In Brief: 5 drug peddlers held in Shimla
Shimla: Five alleged drug peddlers, including two women, have been arrested with chitta (heroin) in three separate cases in Shimla, the police said here on Tuesday. In the first case, two drug peddlers were arrested with 7.5 grams of chitta in Shimla. The accused have been identified as Kamlesh Kumar (32) of Samana village, and Jitender Kumar of Jhijawan village in Arki. In another case, three peddlers, including two women, were arrested with 8.3 grams heroin. The accused have been identified as Suman (32), Ritik (22) and Parwati Devi (70) - all residents of Downdale, Phagli. Additionally, police also arrested one person with 4.61 grams of chitta from Rohru in Shimla district. The accused have been identified as Hrithik Rathore (24) of Dodra. Shimla Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi confirmed the report and said cases under Section 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have been registered against the accused and further investigation was going on.
