IIIT-Una partners with ISRO on outreach programmes
The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Una, will now be a partner in the Indian Institute of Remote Sending – Indian Space Research Organisation (IIRS-ISRO) Outreach Network as a nodal centre.
According to a press release by IIIT Director Prof Manish Gaur, the new partnership brings a chance for students, faculty, and researchers to engage with IIRS-ISRO’s outreach programmes, which are led by experts in space science, remote sensing and geospatial technology. He said participants would experience live and interactive sessions designed to build practical skills and knowledge in these fields.
The director said participants would receive certificates based on their attendance and assignment submissions or through online examinations. IIIT faculty member Dr Ambigavathi M has been appointed as Coordinator and Dr Naveen Cheggoju as Associate Coordinator for the programme.
Dr Gaur expressed hope that the collaboration would usher opportunities for the students, including internships, hands-on projects, and placements.
