Hyolag-Kandapatan road project gets going
Dharampur MLA Chander Shekhar performed the ‘bhumi pujan’ for the construction of the Hyolag-Pangoh-Kandapatan road project recently, which is set to be built at a cost of Rs. 5.32 crore in the Dharampur Assembly constituency of Mandi district.
The project — long awaited by the local community — was formally launched to meet the pressing demand of the area residents. Addressing the gathering, the MLA emphasised the rapid pace of developmental works in the region, particularly focusing on road construction and other infrastructure projects.
Bringing road connectivity to every household remained a priority, with the Public Works Department currently working on 34 link roads, he said.
He also announced that fencing work to protect land from wild animal attacks would begin soon, as all formalities for the project had been completed. Proposals for the construction and paving of 10 roads in the area had been approved, and tender processes for Khanaud-Chamehd, Baroti-Lavanpur, Bahri-Taponhal-Bahlada, Dharmapur-Mathi-Banwar, Pehad-Jatedi, Katheli-Bhadyar, Sari-Pipla-Rasero, Siddhpur-Nansai-Tyog, Sherpur-Chhuighat, and Janitri Mata Mandir roads were underway.
He noted that the GSSS, Dharampur, had been adopted by Google.
