The HPSEBL Employees’ union has opposed the Central Government’s move to replace existing electricity meters with smart meters in the state.

In a statement issued here today, the union urged the state government to revoke the MoU signed by the previous BJP government with the Central Government under the RDS scheme last year.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
