HP University to hold sports, cultural events from Sep 27
Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, is set to hold the Inter-College Youth Festival and Inter-College Championship for the 2024-25 session from September 27 to December 13.
The university today released the calendar of various sports and cultural competitions during the second day of the 52nd Annual General Meeting of the University Sports and Co-Curricular Activities Council. As per the schedule, the youth festival will begin from October 2, and will continue till November 22.
Group-I (Creativity) will be held from October 2 to 4 at Government College, Bilaspur; Group-II (Music) at Government College, Karsog, in Mandi district from October 21 to 23; Group-III (Dance) at Gautam Groups of College, Hamirpur, from November 12 to 14; and Group-IV (Theatre) at Government College, Kullu, from November 20 to 22.
Athletics (men’s and women’s) events are set to be held from November 26 to 28 at Government College, Hamirpur. Hockey (men’s) events will be held at Government College, Paonta Sahib, from October 14 to 16, while hockey (women’s) will be held at Government College, Chamba, from October 22 to 24.
Volleyball (men’s) events will be held at Government College, Seema, in Rohru from October 22 to 25. Chess (men’s and women’s) events will be held at Government College, Sujanpur Tira, from October 14 to 16, while wushu (men’s and women’s) events will be held at Government College, Mandi, from November 20 to 22. Kho-kho (men’s) events will be held at Government College, Hamirpur, from November 4 to 6, while the football tournament will be held at Government College, Dhaliara, in Kangra district from November 7 to 10.
Government College, Nalagarh, will be hosting the shooting competition (men’s and women’s) from October 14 to 16. Government College, Rajgarh, will be hosting the judo (men’s and women’s) events from November 12 to 14, while handball (men’s and women’s) and table tennis (men’s and women’s) will be held on the same dates at MLSM, Sundernagar, and Government College, Jukhala, in Bilaspur district. Wrestling (men’s and women’s) events will be held at Government College, Nurpur, in Kangra district from November 19 to 21, badminton (men’s) at Government College, Chaura Maidan, in Shimla from November 11 to 13, taekwondo (men’s and women’s) at Government College, Amb, in Una district from November 11 to 13, weight lifting (women’s) at Government College, Nadaun, from November 10 to 12, and weight lifting (men’s) at Government College, Indora, from November 28 to 29. Government College, Daulatpur Chowk, in Una will be hosting the boxing (men’s) events from December 10 to 13.
