Himachal Pradesh’s debt to reach Rs 1.5L cr by 2027: Anurag Thakur
Lok Sabha MP Anurag Thakur today said the way the Congress government was functioning, the state would be under a debt of Rs 1.5 lakh crore by 2027.
He said this while addressing BJP workers at the party office in Una. Alleging that the state was undergoing a period of financial mismanagement, he said the debt, which was at Rs 62,000 crore in March 2021, had reached Rs 95,000 crore.
“The employees are uncertain of their salaries, while the state of pensioners is at its worst. All sections of society, including businessmen, are facing the heat of inflation due to hiked prices of fuel. The state is being led to bankruptcy,” he said.
The MP, who was here to review the ongoing membership drive of the party, said the BJP had set a target of attaining 12 lakh members in the state this year.
Referring to Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation announcement, Anurag said it was a shame that people had to come to the streets to see him unseated from the CM’s post.
