Himachal Pradesh government employees to be paid salaries on Oct 1, pension on Oct 9

The state government employees will be paid salaries for September on October 1 while pension will be disbursed on October 9.

A government spokesperson today said that the decision to disburse salaries on time was taken after a review of the cash flow of the state treasury by the Finance Department. He added that the salaries for August were released on September 5 and pension on September 10.

He said that the government was actively working to minimise the gap between receipts and expenditure to ensure timely borrowing, thereby reducing the interest burden on the state.

He added that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu had said in the Assembly on September 4 that the decision on the disbursement of salaries would be taken on September 28 or 29 after reviewing the state’s financial condition as many employees, who had taken loans from banks, had EMIs to pay on the first day of the month.
