Hamirpur pays tributes to freedom fighter Birsa Munda
Tributes were paid to freedom fighter Birsa Munda at Dadu village in Bhoranj subdivision of the district today.
Subdivision Magistrate Shashi Pal Sharma presided over the function organised to mark the birth anniversary of the freedom fighter.
On this occasion, a district-level programme and a special gram sabha was organised at Dadu village.
The SDM said the programme was organised under the National Village Swaraj Yojana (RGSA) and Dharti Aba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan.
The country could not forget the Birsa Munda’s invaluable contributions to the freedom struggle, he added.
Sharma said Birsa Munda was a great source of inspiration for all Indians and especially for the tribal community living in every corner of the country.
Block Development Officer Vaishali Sharma, district Panchayat Office Master Trainer Kapil Pathania and Dadu gram panchayat Pradhan Meera Devi were among those present at the event.
Earlier, a cultural programme was organised to mark the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda.
