A boy reportedly drowned in a stream in the district yesterday. He was identified as Kartik (15), a resident of Daryota village in Hamirpur.

Kartik had gone to the stream ‘Gasoti Khudd’ along with his friends for swimming. His father later complained to the police that his son was missing. However, Kartik’s body was found near the stream. The police got the postmortem done today and handed over the body to the bereaved family.

SP BS Thakur said that a case had been registered and a probe started into the incident. He added that Kartik’s friends left him near the stream and returned home.
