‘Govt taking care of specially abled kids’
The state government is taking care of specially abled children and designing special training programmes for their betterment, claimed Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani.
He was addressing specially abled children at the annual function of a non-government organisation, Pehchan NGO, at the Bachat Bhawan in Hamirpur on Sunday.
The minister said to make these children self-reliant, new courses would be started in ITI and other vocational training institutes in the state. Apart from government institutions, centres of the Skill Development Corporation would also be roped in to train these kids. A bigger institute for specially abled people, which would feature training and rehabilitation facilities, would soon be established at Solan, he added.
Dharmani stated that all specially abled children had special abilities, and their teachers and trainers needed to identify these qualities so that they could be trained in the respective fields. He added that the chief minister had issued directions to identify and transfer land for the construction of ‘Pehchan school’ in the district. He also announced that Rs 50,000 would be given to the organisation for the welfare of these children.
