Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Havildar Suresh Kumar of 18 Dogra Regiment, who made the supreme sacrifice while serving the Army in Leh and Ladakh.

Havildar Suresh Kumar was a resident of Baggi Tungal village in Mandi district. The Governor extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and said that Havildar Suresh Kumar’s sacrifice would forever remain in the nation’s memory and inspire others. He would be remembered as a courageous and devoted soldier.

The Chief Minister said that the state stands in solidarity with the bereaved family members in this time of grief. He added that the selfless service of this brave son to the nation would be remembered with pride and gratitude. Both Chief Minister and Governor prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
