Goma urges swift land allocation for landless families in Kangra

Directs officials to process all pending cases by Nov 30

Minister for Ayush, Yadvinder Goma, directed Kangra officials to expedite the processing of land allotment applications for landless families, setting a deadline of November 30. He noted that in the past six months, 16 landless families in the district received land for housing.

Goma also highlighted that from April to September 2024, ?57.95 crore had been paid as wages under MNREGA in Kangra. He urged banks to prioritize loans for self-help groups to boost self-employment through the Rural Livelihood Mission. Him Era Shops are being established to enhance marketing opportunities for these groups’ products.

The minister further instructed officials to identify and address pending development works under the District Plan and the 20-point program. Unutilized funds should be redirected to other development projects to ensure residents benefit from government schemes.

At the meeting in Dharamsala, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Ashish Butail recommended a survey to identify slum areas in Kangra, enabling targeted support and infrastructure improvements in those locations.
