In accordance with the directives of the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA), Shimla, a two-member team from the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Chandigarh, held a meeting today with Sirmaur’s Additional District Magistrate (ADM), L R Verma. The meeting focused on assessing landslide activity along National Highway 907-A, which connects Nahan to Kumarhatti.

The geological team, led by senior geologist W. Korme, is set to conduct a detailed inspection of the areas affected by landslides. “Landslide activities have been observed at various locations along the highway, particularly during the monsoon,” ADM Verma noted during the meeting. He further stated that the team would be responsible for preparing a progress report, which will be submitted to the government for further action and necessary interventions.
