A programme on the Geodiversity Day was organised at Government High School, Bhagsu Nag, today for the students of Classes IX and X, under an initiative of the Kangra chapter of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage.

LN Aggarwal, the convenor of the Kangra chapter, has already submitted a proposal for the creation of a geodiversity park at Bhagsu Nag.

A retired director of the Geological Survey of India, Aggarwal claims to have identified several rock formations that are thousands of years old, which could be of interest to researchers and scholars. “Once it is ready, it would be one of the rarest sites to watch and will consequently boost the tourism in the area,” added Aggarwal.
