A ‘Deeksha Aarambh’ programme was recently organised for the new students of the Agriculture College of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, Palampur.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Naveen Kumar inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp, and called upon the students to develop their personality by adopting good thoughts and staying disciplined. He exhorted the students present at the gathering to read as many books as possible, and make their presence felt in sports activities.

Dean (Agriculture College) Man Chand Rana welcomed the new students along with the VC, Registrar Dr Madhu Chaudhary, statutory officers, department heads and scientists. Programme Coordinator Dr Narendra Sankhyan said under the New Education Policy, ‘Deeksha Aarambh’ and a fresher party were organised for the new students of the college. During the event, Vanshika Sharma and Pranjal Thakur were dubbed Miss and Mr Personality, respectively, and Vasudev and Mishti were dubbed Mr and Miss Freshers, respectively. Director (Extension Education) Dr Vinod Sharma, Student Welfare Officer Dr Ashok Kumar Panda, Librarian Dr Rajesh Kumar Asrani, and the heads of various departments and scientists among those present at the programme.
