Extend Talwara railway line to Sansarpur : Congress

Tribune News Service

Dharamsala, August 3

The Congress has demanded the extension of the Talwara broad gauge railway line to the Sansarpur Terrace industrial area of Kangra district.

Rajender Sharma, a Congress leader from Jaswan Pragpur, said in a press note here today that due to the failure of the government, the Jaswan Pragpur industrial area had been shifted to Sansarpur Terrace. Jaswan Pragpur lacked even basic facilities as it was ignored for the past nine years.

He said Jaswan Pragpur MLA Bikram Thakur, who is state Industry Minister, had got many small and big industries established in Sansarpur Terrace.

“However, the area does not have a railway line, which can be easily provided by extending the Talwara line to Sansarpur Terrace,” he added.

Sharma said the Una-Talwara railway line was being connected to Daulatpur via Talwara in Punjab, the work for which was going on a war footing.
