Essay-writing competition held on Hindi Diwas

Harshita from Lakshmibai House in Government Model Girls Senior Secondary School, Portmore, secured the first position in inter-house essay-writing competition, while Harshita and Anjali Sharma from Aruna Asaf Ali stood second and third, respectively.

The competition was held on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, said Principal Rakhi Pandit. She added that several programmes such as declamation contests, calligraphy, and essay writing were held for students.

In the junior category, Rishikam and Manvi of Lakshmibai House stood first and second, respectively, in the calligraphy competition.

Kanika of Class IX and Nibha of Class XI delivered captivating speeches on the importance of the Hindi language, leaving the audience impressed. Nisha Verma also shared her thoughts on the significance of Hindi during the event. The principal spoke about the origin, history, and relevance of Hindi in today’s context. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Deshraj Sharma.
