Ensure time-bound completion of projects, DC tells officials
Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa inspected ongoing rural development works in Fatehpur Assembly constituency last evening and instructed the officials of the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department to inspect the works regularly at the panchayat level.
He emphasised the need to pay special attention to the quality of the construction work of rural infrastructure.
He said it was necessary to review all schemes and programmes launched by the state government so that the ongoing development works could be expedited and completed within the stipulated period. The DC inspected development works in various gram panchayats of the constituency and said the state government had laid special emphasis on implementing public welfare and development schemes in an effective and time-bound manner.
He said the district administration was committed to working with due diligence in accordance with the efforts and policies of the government. He said as per the directions of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, he was visiting all subdivisions and inspecting development works. Later presiding over a review meeting of government officials at Fatehpur, Bairwa said the state government had launched many welfare schemes for the poor and deprived sections of society and the officers should ensure to publicise the schemes by organising camps so that the benefits reach eligible people.
The DC instructed the revenue officers to work with complete transparency in revenue matters and to dispose cases immediately so that people do not have to make repeated visits to the offices for their work.
The Deputy Commissioner, along with officials, inspected various development works and gave necessary instructions. He took stock of the ongoing development works in Chhatar gram panchayat.
