Ensure effective implementation of welfare schemes: Shimla DC to SDMs
Shimla Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anupam Kashyap chaired a special video conferencing meeting with all Subdivisional Magistrates (SDMs) of the district, emphasising the need to ensure that state government welfare schemes benefit the needy. The DC instructed SDMs to regularly review the state’s flagship programmes and monitor the facilities provided under the Chief Minister’s Sukh Aashray Yojana, particularly for children. He also directed SDMs to develop detailed action plans for schemes under the Department of Women and Child Development and gather relevant beneficiary information from Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs).
Raising awareness about initiatives like the Children of the State and Chief Minister’s Sukh Shiksha Yojana was also stressed to encourage children toward higher education. The DC urged swift action in implementing announcements made by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, with progress reports to be collected soon. To address public grievances effectively, SDMs and field officers were instructed to ensure timely delivery of government benefits. Delays caused by officials or employees would invite strict action.
The meeting included discussions on ongoing government schemes, with department heads providing updates.
