A team of the state Education Department, led by Education Minister Rohit Thakur, visited Uttar Pradesh to study the ongoing educational programmes in that state. The purpose of the visit was to explore mutual collaboration and opportunities between the two states in the field of education. The team met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow. During the meeting, the CM provided an overview of various programmes being implemented for primary, middle and secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh.

To improve school education, the UP government has launched initiatives such as Operation Kayakalp, CM Model Composite School Scheme and Alankar. Thakur emphasised that Himachal faced similar challenges in education as Uttar Pradesh, like declining enrolment in government schools.
