Drug peddler arrested with 13.56 g heroin
The Indora police arrested a habitual drug peddler with 13.56 gram of heroin (chitta). Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Bhadroya village, was riding a scooty when the police stopped him and recovered ‘chitta’ from his possession. He was arrested under Sections 21, 25 of the NDPS Act.
Nurpur SP Ashok Rattan said that the accused was a habitual offender in inter-state drug smuggling and eight cases under the NDPS Act had been registered against him in Himachal and Punjab. He added that the police had so far recovered 63.72 gram of heroin and 890 intoxicating capsules from his possession.
The SP said that the accused was arrested on January 15, 2017, with 0.91 grams of heroin. After that, he was arrested with 5.26 grams of heroin on July 6, 2017, and with 4 grams of heroin, 290 intoxicating capsules and 600 intoxicating pills on November 13, 2019. He was caught with 8.04 grams of heroin in January 2021.
Cases against him had been registered at Damtal, Nurpur in Himachal Pradesh and Pathankot and Taragarh police stations in Punjab.
