Documentary on Dalai Lama’s life screened at Zurich Film Festival
Penpa Tsering, Sikyong of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), had attended the screening of “Wisdom of Happiness”, a documentary on the life of the Dalai Lama at Zurich in Switzerland on October 8.
The Sikyong (president of the CTA) met with Richard Gere, chairman of the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) Board of Directors; Tencho Gyatso, Executive Director of the ICT; and former Kalon (minister) Tempa Tsering at Dolder Grand Hotel. Representative Thinlay Chukki and UN Advocacy Officer Phuntsok Topgyal were also present.
Later, a welcome dinner was hosted, which featured Philip Deliquis and Barbara Miller, directors of the documentary “Wisdom of Happiness,” photographer Manuel Bauer, Tashi Albertini, Richard Gere and former minister Jetsun Pema.
The Sikyong held a discussion with the representatives of Tibet support groups and Swiss NGOs regarding the Dalai Lama’s 90th birth anniversary. He also attended the screening of “Wisdom of Happiness” at the Zurich Film Festival and later delivered a speech.
The Sikyong was welcomed by a delegation, including Swiss representative Thinlay Chukki, the Abbot and monks of the Rikon Monastery, president and vice-president of the Tibetan Community of Switzerland and Liechtenstein, vice-president of the local Tibetan Women’s Association, president of the Tibetan Youth Association, representatives of the regional U-Tsang Association, president of the regional Domey Association and local Tibetans.
