Disabled persons, senior citizens examined at camp

Kangra district Red Cross Society, in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation, Mohali, organised a disability assessment camp here at Bachat Bhawan on Friday. SDM Nurpur inaugurated the event.

The team examined 20 disabled persons and 16 senior citizens. The society’s secretary, OP Sharma, said 36 eligible persons were found eligible and registered in the camp. He said the beneficiaries would get free tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, crutches, walking sticks, and other assistive devices and artificial limbs in the next camp. He said with the help of assistive devices and artificial limbs, the disabled persons would become self-reliant.
