Dhani Ram Shandil urges JP Nadda for funds to improve healthcare facilities
Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil called on Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Union Women and Child Development Minister Annpurna Devi in New Delhi today and them for support for various schemes, keeping in mind the interests of Himachal Pradesh.
Shandil urged Nadda to provide funds for the expansion and strengthening of healthcare facilities at Dr Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur; Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan; Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba; and Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda. He also requested the ministers for Central Government’s assistance for the purchase of modern medical equipment.
At the meeting with the Union Women and Child Development Minister, Shandil reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring women’s safety. He said that provisions were being made for the installation of CCTV cameras and proper lighting in all major cities of the state to make the environment safer for women. He requested Annpurna Devi for sufficient funds for the installation of CCTV cameras.
He said that the Solan Municipal Corporation had prepared a detailed project report and an estimate of Rs 2.10 crore for the installation of CCTV cameras, which had been sent to the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development. The state government was making arrangements to install CCTV cameras at various locations in the state, for which around Rs 30 crore to Rs 40 crore was required,
He also sought funds for projects like the Chief Minister Adarsh Gram Sukh Ashray Parisar, childcare institutions, Vatsalya Yojana, Palna Yojana and the Shakti Niwas Yojana. He requested the Union Minister for funds for the purchase of essential equipment, including smartphones, for the effective implementation of the SAKSHAM Anganwari and Poshan 2.0 Mission.
