A delegation of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) called on Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today to apprise him about various issues and demands. The Chief Minister assured the delegation that its genuine concerns would be addressed with care and empathy.

Sukhu said that the government was committed to the welfare of its employees. He added that it had released 11 per cent dearness allowance in two years of its tenure and restored the old pension scheme to ensure their well-being.

According to the Joint Front of HPSEBL, the Chief Minister gave directions to officials concerned to reconsider the decision to shift the project of laying of the 66kv transmission line from Pooh to Kaja from the electricity board to the HPPTCL. The Joint Front claimed that the decision to abolish 51 posts of engineer and end the services of 81 drivers employed on the outsourced basis could be reconsidered.
