Dearness relief to pensioners released

The Himachal Government today granted 4 per cent dearness relief to all government pensioners with effect from October 1, 2024.

With this, the DA for the pensioners will go up from the existing 38 per cent to 42 per cent.

The additional dearness relief shall be paid with the pension or family pension for the month of October while the decision on payment of dearness relief for the period from January 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024 will be taken separately in due course of time.

As per the order issued by the Finance Department, dearness relief involving a fraction of a rupee shall be rounded off.

The other provisions governing grant of dearness relief to pensioners such as regulation of dearness relief during employment/re-employment, regulation of dearness relief where more than one pension is being drawn, will remain unchanged.
