DC offices’ sports events for staffers begin in Chamba
The state-level sports competitions for employees of Himachal Pradesh Deputy Commissioner Offices commenced on October 24 at the Chaugan ground in Chamba.
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal inaugurated the event by hoisting the flag. The three-day event will see the participation of 450 player from all 12 districts of the state. The competitions include cricket, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, table tennis, athletics events, besides various cultural and other competitions.
Addressing the participating athletes and representatives of the Deputy Commissioner Office Employees’ Union from different districts, Repaswal expressed his happiness over hosting the event in Chamba.
“Sports help employees maintain a balanced and stress-free life, leading to improvements in both their personal and professional lives,” he said.
Such events also provided an opportunity to employees of different districts to interact with each other, he added. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Office Employees’ Union state president Lokender Chauhan, executive president Praveen Kumar Mehta and other executive members formally welcomed the chief guest.
In his welcome address, Mehta said the state-level competition first started in Chamba in 2000, and now, after 24 years, Chamba had once again been given the opportunity to host the event. Mehta expressed his gratitude to the Chamba DC and all district officials for their support in organising the event.
