DC for time-bound completion of development projects in Chamba
Chamba Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal, during the weekly review meeting, assessed the progress of various departmental projects and emphasised the importance of maintaining quality while ensuring timely completion.
Key discussions revolved around several initiatives, including the construction of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital at Sarol and electric and power supply to its campus, the newly constructed cow shelter at Manjeer, signboards and hoardings to be installed by the Tourism Department at Jot and Naini Khad, the “Apna Vidyalaya” scheme, the waste management plant at Kuran, and the ambulance road from Pakka Talla to Balu.
The DC directed the Animal Husbandry Department to complete the remaining work of the Manjeer cow shelter and make it operational at the earliest. He instructed the Municipal Council, Chamba, the Public Works Department (PWD), and the Revenue Department to conduct a joint inspection and remove illegal encroachments on the ambulance road from Pakka Talla to Balu promptly.
He urged the Jal Shakti Department to expedite work on the sewage treatment plant for the Civil Hospital in Kihar. Additionally, the Health Department was instructed to take all necessary measures to provide monthly nutritious food to all TB patients under the Nikshay Mitra Yojana.
The DC also issued strict instructions to the Municipal Council Chamba to remove the debris from the collapsed retaining wall near the District Public Relations Officer’s office building within 15 days.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner to Deputy Commissioner PP Singh, Principal of Medical College Chamba Dr Pankaj Gupta, Deputy Director of Elementary Education Gian Chand, District Sports Officer Prem Prakash, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Gaurav Mahajan, District Programme Officer for Health Dr Harit Puri, and other officials from various departments.
