CPM’s district tri-annual meet begins in Rampur
The 15th District-Level Tri-Annual Conference of the CPM was held in Rampur on Tuesday. Prior to the conference, Left-wing activists organised a rally and public gathering in the main market. Speakers at the event expressed that both the Central and state governments had failed on all fronts, leaving farmers, orchardists and labourers feeling oppressed. They emphasised that it was now time to stand united and take up the path of struggle to claim their rights.
The speakers criticised the government, accusing it of working to protect wealthy individuals at the behest of industrialists, while the poor continued to suffer. This two-day conference will focus on strategising the CPM’s future plans and analysing the economic conditions impacting people’s lives. Discussions will also be held to address the growing distress among the people and find solutions to alleviate it.
CPM leader and former MLA Rakesh Singha said this was CPM Shimla District’s 15th conference. He added that the conference will set the roadmap for the party’s upcoming strategies to fight for people’s rights in the region. He added that the rich were getting richer, while the poor were becoming poorer. The conference will outline strategies to wage a struggle to protect the rights of farmers, orchardists and labourers.
