CPM to protest ‘one nation, one election’, other issues from November 4
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) here today decided to lauch a drive from Nov 4 till Nov 11 against the ‘anti-people’ policies of the Narendra Modi-led central government, as well as the state government. This drive will conclude with statewide protests and demonstrations.
With this drive, CPM will highlight inflation, unemployment, rising costs of social services, increasing violence against women and children, and the central government’s push for ‘one nation, one election’, which the party sees as anti-democratic and against federalism.
The decision was taken during a two-day meeting of the state committee of the party, held under the chairmanship of former MLA Rakesh Singha.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the anti-people and neoliberal policies that are being implemented by the NDA government as well as the Congress led state government. “With this drive, CPM aims to educate the public about the harmful effects of these policies” he added.
