Coronavirus: Shimla Police launch doorstep delivery of household necessities, medicines to elderly

Shimla Police have launched an initiative to delivery of household necessities to the elderly after they got several calls from them.

 “We were receiving a lot of calls from the old people for their medicines. The elderly are more vulnerable to Covid 19. We are trying to ensure they don’t have to step outside their houses. Medicines would be supplied daily while Milk and ration would also be distributed thrice a week,” SP Shimla Omapati Jamwal said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the district administration put off their doorstep delivery initiative for groceries by a day.

Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap said his administration had roped postmen and porters to help cart the groceries.
