Construction of three tunnels in Chamba on cards
Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker on Friday said the government was planning to construct three tunnels in Chamba district to provide boost to connectivity issues in the remote areas.
He was addressing a Congress workers’ meeting at Chowari. The meeting was organised by Bhattiyat Block Congress Committee which Shantanu Chauhan, observer for the Chamba-Kangra parliamentary region and vice-president of the Haryana Youth Congress, attended as a special guest.
Reiterating the state government’s commitment to the holistic development of the aspirational district Chamba, Pathania said the proposed tunnels between Chowari-Chamba, Chamba-Pangi and Holi-Uttrala, would be crucial for the district’s development in future.
He said that Rs 1,000 crore will be invested in Bhatiyat constituency to enhance health, road connectivity, education, and drinking water facilities.
Pathania expressed gratitude to party workers for their relentless efforts, which he credited for the recognition he has received globally. He pledged to visit every polling booth in the constituency in the coming year to identify and resolve any development-related issues.
Addressing the gathering, Shantanu Chauhan emphasized the importance of strengthening the Congress organisation in Himachal Pradesh. He encouraged party workers to remain united and provide honest feedback to leaders to address organizational shortcomings effectively.
Prominent attendees included Krishna Chand Chela (Director, Forest Corporation HP), Rajkumar Chambiyal (Director, State Co-operative Bank), Sunabh Singh Pathania (former District President, Youth Congress), among others.
