Himachal Congress to hold rally for unemployed youth on GS Bali's birth anniversary
Dharamsala, July 26
The Congress will start its state-level Rozgar Sangharsh Yatra for the unemployed youth from tomorrow to mark the birth anniversary of former minister late GS Bali from Nagrota Bagwan.
Party in-charge for the state Rajiv Shukla will flag off the yatra and most of the senior leadership will be present at Nagrota Bagwan to present a show of unity ahead of the Assembly poll.
RS Bali, AICC secretary and son of former minister GS Bali, said the Congress had deputed him and Vikramaditya Singh to take out a rally for the unemployed youth. His father had fought for the rights of the unemployed youth.
He had got unemployment allowance of Rs 1,500 per month approved during the stint of the previous Congress government. However, the BJP government did away with the allowance. The number of unemployed had gone up from 8 lakh to 12 lakh. The Rozgar Sangharsh Yatra would muster the youth against the policies of the BJP government, Bali said.
Besides Shukla, HPCC president Pratibha Singh, CLP leader Mukesh Agnihotri, MLA Vikramaditya Singh and all other prominent leaders would be present for the launch of the rally.
GS Bali used to celebrate his birthday in Nagrota Bagwan for three days from July 25 to July 27 in which medical camps, free food and cultural programmes were organized for people. On July 27, the birthday of Bali, the programmes ended after a political rally.
Congress workers at Nagrota Bagwan organised a medical camp today in which experts from top medical institutes gave free medical advice to people in the area.
