Cong: SC order on plea on CPS disqualification silenced BJP
Naresh Chauhan, Principal Media Adviser to Chief Minister, has termed the Supreme Court’s order on the petition seeking the disqualification of six former Chief Parliamentary Secretaries (CPSs) as a big relief to the state and a victory of people. The Supreme Court, in its order on the matter, stayed further proceedings related to the disqualification of the former CPSs.
Chauhan said that some BJP leaders were making tall claims regarding the disqualification of six elected MLAs by referring to Para 50, but the Supreme Court order had silenced them. “Himachal’s case has been clubbed with the pending cases of other states. Now, all these cases will be heard together and the next hearing has been fixed for January 20. The elected state government is completely safe," he added.
About the issue of the closure of 18 hotels of the HPTDC, Chauhan said that the state government had presented its case in the High Court of Himachal and orders had been issued for the re-opening of nine hotels. He added that the Congress government was not responsible for the current condition of the hotels and the situation rather had arisen due to mismanagement by the previous BJP government.
