Complete road to Chamiyana hospital on priority: Minister
Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh today directed the officials concerned to expedite work on road connectivity to the Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialities (AIMSS), Chamiyana, from Bhattakufar in Shimla.
The minister presided over a review meeting with the Regional Officer and Project Director of the NHAI and assessed the progress of various ongoing and pending works of PWD and NHAI in the state. He stressed on the immediate repair and maintenance of roads and bridges damaged during the monsoon season.
The minister instructed the officials to deploy necessary manpower and machinery to expedite the restoration process, ensuring that residents do not face any inconvenience.
The PWD Minister asked the officials to prioritise the completion of the Chamiyana hospital road work, emphasising that proper road access was crucial for the hospital to become operational and serve the public effectively.
He said the super-speciality hospital would play a pivotal role in providing specialised healthcare services to the community.
He said adhering to high construction standards was essential for durability and safety of infrastructure, as well as for maximising the long-term benefits to the community.
The minister called for regular inspection and quality assessment of projects under construction to ensure that all works meet the required specifications.
Secretary, PWD, Abhishek Jain; Special Secretary, PWD, Harbans Singh Brascon; Regional Officer, NHAI Shimla, Col Ajay Singh Bargoti, Project Director, NHAI, Anand Kumar and other senior officials and NHAI attended the meeting.
Regular inspection
During the review meeting, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh called for regular inspection and quality assessment of projects under construction to ensure that all works meet the required specifications.
