Awareness drive

Many people in the city do not have full information about the provisions for the development plan due to which they have to visit the MC office frequently. Therefore, we have decided to start a ward-level awareness drive. — Surinder Chauhan, Mayor

The move will benefit the people seeking the approval for their house map after the implementation of the Shimla Developmental Plan. After this, they won’t have to visit the MC office for the purpose.

The IT department of the civic body is preparing a software for the purpose and it is expected to be functional by April 1.

Mayor Surinder Chauhan said the civic body plans to provide various online services to the people.

He said the facility will be provided for the convenience of the people as well as to reduce the rush at the MC office. With the availability of online facilities, people will get their work done in a hassle-free manner and save time, the mayor added. Besides, the MC will also provide information about the provisions and rules for the construction of buildings under the Shimla Development Plan.

The mayor said, “There are many people in the city who do not have full information about the provisions for the development plan due to which they have to visit the MC office frequently. Therefore, we have decided to start a ward-level awareness drive through which people will be made aware of the new rules.”
