Hamirpur: CMO apprises students about stress caused due to drug abuse
Hamirpur, February 28
Chief Medical Officer Dr RK Agnihotri discussed how mental stress is one of the reasons for drug abuse among youth while addressing students at Thakur Jagdev Chand Memorial Government College Sujanpur on the occasion of Youth Day celebration near here today. CMO said that drug abuse is pushing youth towards crime, thus affecting their lives and families as well. He said people should guide youth and try to keep them away from drugs. He said sports and extracurricular activities help in keeping youth away from drugs.
The CMO said youth should learn from the writings of Swami Vivekananda and try to establish a healthy society.
The health department also organised painting, declamation and rangoli competition on the occasion. The CMO distributed prizes to the winners of the competitions.
Earlier, the CMO flagged off a mobile food testing lab from Hamirpur. He said the food testing vehicle would help in keeping eye on the quality of food and other eatables in the district. This would help in preventing the sale of stale and expired food products in the district, he added.
