Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Hospital, Shimla, on Tuesday to enquire after the well-being of Nand Lal, Chairman of the Seventh State Finance Commission, who is recuperating from an illness. He wished the Rampur MLA a speedy recovery.

Sukhu also paid a surprise visit to the newly established trauma ward of the hospital and interacted with patients admitted there. He enquired from them about the services being provided to the patients. He asked, “When doctors and paramedical staff come, do you receive proper attention. What is your opinion of the quality of food being served to you.”

Sukhu, while interacting with nurses, said that the government was recruiting staff to ensure the international ratio of doctors-nurses and patients so that they could perform their duties efficiently. Ram Chander Pathania, Chairman of Kangra Cooperative Primary Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, accompanied the Chief Minister.
