There should be no lapse in celebrations over the completion of the second year of the Congress government in office and highlighting its achievements and vision, said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while virtually addressing district officials during a meeting at Bilaspur today. He issued necessary directions to the Bilaspur administration to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the event on December 11.

Earlier, Abid Hussain Sadik, Deputy Commissioner, Bilaspur, convened a meeting to review the preparations for the function and issued necessary directions. He said that the event was significant as it would showcase the achievements of the state government and would also serve as a testament to coordination efforts and efficiency of the district administration. He urged all departments to complete their assigned tasks within the stipulated time and contribute to the success of the event.

Sadik said that it was a matter of pride for Hamirpur that the government had chosen to host the event in the district. He also fixed the duties of the heads of various departments to ensure a successful event. He suggested that the police should decide alternative routes to maintain smooth traffic flow during the event and also emphasised on security and crowd management plans.

He said that cleanliness, seating arrangements, stage setup, drinking water supply, electricity, firefighting services, crane availability and Internet connectivity be made available at the venue. He directed Health Department officials to deploy ambulances and medical teams at the venue and conduct mock exercises as well.

Sadik said besides exhibitions, cultural activities and folk music performances would also be organised to entertain the public and create a festive atmosphere. SP Sandeep Dhawal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Patel, SDM Gaurav Chaudhary and Assistant Commissioner Narendra Ahluwalia attended the meeting.
