CM inaugurates bridges, bus stand in Paonta Sahib

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth Rs 94 crore in the Paonta Sahib Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district through video-conferencing from Shimla.
He inaugurated a 396-metre double-lane bridge over the Giri river on the Rampurghat-Manpur Deora road, a new police station at Paonta Sahib, a lift irrigation scheme at Badhana Kalatha, a bus stand and a 61.50-metre bridge across Jambu Khalla on the Jawalapur-Lal Tappar road. He also laid the foundation stone of 18 projects worth about Rs 63 crore, including link roads, water schemes and school buildings.
The Chief Minister said that all these projects would be completed within a year.
He said that India and the world were today passing through a tough phase of coronavirus. “The nation has been successfully guided through this bad phase by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The state government has taken several steps to check the spread of the pandemic”.
Thakur thanked the people of the constituency for contributing Rs 55 lakh towards the CM Covid fund and PM CAREs. He said that the government was giving a special thrust on the development of Paonta Sahib. He lauded the efforts of local MLA and Power Minister Sukhram Chawdhary for pursuing development projects.
He said that the Central Government had approved a Rs 251 crore project for channeling the Yamuna to provide much-needed relief to people.
The Chief Minister urged people to strictly follow the standard operating procedures for Covid and said that there was a greater chance of the virus spreading during the winter.
The Power Minister said that these projects would go a long way in making a marked change in the lives of the people of the area. State BJP president Suresh Kashyap thanked the Chief Minister for inaugurating development projects in the area.
