Cleanliness a collective responsibility: Awasthi
Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) Sanjay Awasthi emphasised that maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility, while addressing public grievances in Arki. Speaking to local representatives and residents, he highlighted the importance of community involvement in cleanliness campaigns, underlining how a clean environment promotes individual and community health, essential for societal development.
As part of the event, Awasthi flagged off a new garbage collection vehicle for Nagar Panchayat Arki, encouraging residents to actively participate in maintaining their surroundings. “Healthy citizens drive the development of both the state and the country,” he stated, advocating that every person contribute to creating a healthier, cleaner environment.
The CPS assured residents that the state government is committed to addressing public grievances swiftly, saving both time and resources by resolving issues locally. He shared recent efforts by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who visited the remote area of Dodra-Kwar in Shimla district. The Chief Minister’s overnight stay there was meant to assure residents of the government’s dedication to addressing even the concerns of those in the state’s farthest reaches.
During the event, Awasthi listened to the grievances of Arki residents, instructing local officers to address issues promptly. Also present were prominent community leaders, including Block Congress Committee President Satish Kashyap, Nagar Panchayat President Anuj Gupta, Block Medical Officer Dr Tara Chand Negi, and senior officials from various departments.
