The Shimla Municipal Corporation has handed over a notice to the operator of a parking lot near the lift on Circular Road in the state’s capital, directing him to pay the pending concessional charges of Rs 9.27 crore.

Municipal Commissioner Bhupinder Attri said earlier also notices were issued to the operator and this one was a reminder.

He said the parking lot was constructed on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and the operator had to pay fees to the civic body every year.

Constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 56 crore, it is one of the biggest parking lots of the town.

The Shimla Municipal Corporation will soon start online booking of parking slots for the convenience of tourists.
