CISF conducts ‘Run for Unity’ to honour Sardar Patel on birth anniv
In a vibrant celebration of national unity, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) organised a ‘Run for Unity’ programme on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The event took place at the Balancing Reservoir BSL, Sundernagar, in Mandi district, from 7 am to 8.30 am yesterday, with the support of the State Bank of India (SBI), Sundernagar, and BSL Project Management.
The initiative

The programme commenced with an inaugural address by the CISF Deputy Commandant. He welcomed officials from BBMB and SBI, CISF personnel, media representatives and members of the public. He emphasised Sardar Patel’s pivotal role in the nation’s history, underlining the importance of unity and integrity in contemporary society. He expressed his gratitude to all participants for their involvement in the event.
In a significant gesture of solidarity, Deputy Chief Engineer Kashmir Singh Thakur led the attendees in a unity pledge, reinforcing the message of collective strength and commitment to national integrity. Following the pledge, the run was flagged off.
The event culminated with an award ceremony where medals and certificates were presented to the top three finishers by Chief Manager Arvind Jaiswal. The programme has helped everyone remember the importance of unity.
Governor pays floral tributes
