The residents of Galore Khas village in Nadaun constituency paid tribute to their brave son, Martyr Rohin Kumar Thakur, by naming the village chowk after him. The solemn ceremony was held to honour Rohin Kumar, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, on August 1, 2020.

Born on May 18, 1996, Rohin was the only son of Rasil Singh and Kamlesh Kumari. His parents had been preparing for his wedding, but their dreams were shattered when news of his martyrdom reached the village. His body was later brought home, and he was cremated with full military and state honours at the village cremation ground.

Sanjeev Sharma, Pradhan of the Galore Khas gram panchayat , said it was a unanimous decision to honour Rohin’s sacrifice by naming the village chowk after him.
