Chanshal Peak to be developed as tourist destination: DC
Shimla Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anupam Kashyap announced plans to develop Chanshal Peak, located in the Rohru subdivision of Shimla district, into a tourist destination. Chairing a meeting on the matter, the DC reviewed a detailed report prepared by Col HS Chauhan, who has been working on tourism-related studies of the region since 1993.
Appreciating Col Chauhan’s efforts, the DC noted that the report outlines strategies for transforming Chanshal Peak into a scenic tourist spot. He stated that all records related to the area would be collected to prepare a comprehensive report for submission to the state government.
The DC instructed the Rohru SDM to collaborate with the Forest Department, given that a significant portion of Chanshal Peak falls under its jurisdiction.
